Spring Bank Weekend In St Abbs

A good trip to a favourite spot – now twinned with New Asgard!
Calm, sunny conditions leading up to the bank holiday weekend were promising, and we did indeed get 4 good dives on the Saturday and Sunday. By Sunday night the northerly wind had become ‘fresh’ and the prevailing conditions on Monday were less than conducive for our last day’s diving. Such are the vagaries of the UK weather!
Vivian Viz

Quick photo from the dives at Vivian today.
The visibility was the worst I’ve ever dived in!!! Maximum (at 17m) was approx 6 inches!!!
Not much fun at all!!!
Shake Down At NDAC

We all had a really fun weekend at NDAC, doing some shake down dives with stages before we head off to the Sound of Mull in May. Was great to be joined by some Alumni divers from SHSUSAC.
Blue Planet UK

Wow – i’ve starred on the BBC – watch Blue Planet UK on I-player to see me and also showing some of Alan’s video.
Egypt – Northern Wrecks And Reefs – February 2019

A group of 4 divers (3 from Sheffield Scuba and 1 from Sheffield Hallam Students Union Sub Aqua club) took advantage of a late booking deal on a Liveaboard departing from Hurghada, Egypt. The trip was booked 1 week prior to departure which wasn’t the ideal preparation, but everything was arranged with ease and kit was urgently checked and assembled.
Above And Below Footage Of Our 2018 Trips To St Abbs And Eyemouth

I love taking underwater videos whilst diving. Recently I also got my hands on a small drone, which allowed me to carefully capture some lovely scenery of around St Abbs and Eyemouth.
I’ve stitched this together with some under water footage taken on the same trips. Have a look!
Diving At The Edge Of The World – St Kilda – June 2018

I always want to sing the Run Rig song “At the Edge of the World” when I think about St Kilda. This was our third attempt to dive St Kilda and this time we got there and had 3 spectacular days diving under huge cliffs. My main memory is surfacing after a dive and looking up at the sky to see thousands of sea birds flying around – skuas, gannets, puffins, guillemots, shearwaters, fulmars, cormorants, seagulls – I’m not a twitcher but it was a great end to a dive.
Zenobia And Two Firsts

Wow. What an amazing wreck the Zenobia is in Larnaca bay, Cyprus. The water was 27 degrees and 30-40m viz. It’s 180 m long and lays on its side. Fantastic for penetrating and plenty to see on the outside. Massive trucks and machinery and lots of nooks and crannies to explore.
Baltimore, Ireland – Aug 2018

Twelve of us went to dive with Aquaventures, in Baltimore in Ireland for a week. I must start out with saying that they are a superb outfit, and I thoroughly recommend diving with them. Jerry is a great skipper and his wife Rianne was thoroughly knowledgeable about all of the sites and very organised when we returned from a days diving!
Egypt – Simply The Best – July 2018

A group of 7 of us from across a number of clubs and geographies met up on the MV Hurricane in Marsa Alam for a week of diving the Simply the best itinerary with Scuba Travel.
